Workers in Region 3 receive livelihood fund from DOLE

Dec 17, 2017 @ 3:49

More than 1,000 marginalized workers from different parts of Bataan and Central Luzon recently received P20 million livelihood assistance checks from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III led the distribution of livelihood checks to the beneficiaries held in Bataan. Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton personally received the check from the President.

“The DOLE’s livelihood assistance is among the government programs meant to augment incomes of families of workers in the informal sector of the economy. What a better time to provide more livelihood opportunities to them at the wake of our foundation day festivity here in Bulacan,” DOLE Regional Director Atty. Ana Dione said.

The distribution of checks coincided with DOLE’s 84th founding anniversary celebration at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, with the theme “Trabahong Marangal para sa Lahat, Sabay-sabay Nating Iangat.”

The livelihood assistance checks were distributed to different labor groups in Aurora, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Zambales.
