Tarlac Governor Susan Yap on Thursday announced that Capas town, one of the gateways to Mt. Pinatubo, was reopening its tourism office after almost a year of being closed due to the pandemic.
“Pinatubo is such a sight to behold,” the governor said in a Facebook post.
“The Capas Tourism Office opens the door after nearly a year to this breathtaking landmark,” Yap said.
She said she and Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan discussed plans to “preserve and promote the area.”
“We were joined by RD Gen Val de Leon, PD Cabico as first time visitors,” Yap said.
The group embarked on a two-hour offroad ride and chanced upon some indigenous peoples along the way, according to the governor.
