Villaricas clarify DSWD’s social amelioration program to Meycauayan residents
Bulacan 4th district representative Henry Villarica and Meycauayan Mayor Linabelle Villarica sought understanding from their constituents.
Patient as they are, the husband and wife duo explained in the simplest way possible why one knock on the door will only mean one SAC will be given. DSWD’s official term is “households” and not “families,” meaning every house will just be receiving one SAC regardless of the number of families living inside.
They also clarified that although everyone is affected by the Luzon-wide lockdown, not all should expect assistance. The DSWD gave all local government units a quota as to how many households will benefit from the aid. To be clearer, only 26,300 out of 58,514 households in Meycauayan will receive food packs and aid with priority on the urban poor communities.
Even though the budget is limited, the two reassured their constituents that both their offices is open for any concern and will always be of service to all.
