Tugade warns DOTr personnel from dropping his name in illegal activities
Clark-based Department of Transportation (DOTr) warned Sunday all its officials and personnel, including those from its sectoral offices and attached agencies, from using Secretary Arthur Tugade’s name in illegal activities.
The statement came following reports that certain individuals have been using or dropping Tugade’s name in obtaining employment in the department, getting special treatment, awards of contracts or projects, fundraising activities, extortion, and other illegal activities.
“If I find out that you are using my name for your personal interests, I assure you, that you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I will never tolerate any form of corruption nor employees who will put this Department in a bad light,” Tugade said.
The DOTr chief said he is also strictly enforcing the law against nepotism.
“Ayaw ko ng kamag-anak incorporated sa aming departamento. May mga natanggal na ako dahil sa nepotismo. Galing at husay ang puhunan sa pagpasok sa gobyerno, hindi kung sino ang kakilala mo,” Tugade said.
