Tarlac 3rd District Representative Noel Villanueva is pleased with the progress of a bill he co-authored in Congress requiring graduating students to plant trees.

On Wednesday, Villanueva said on his Facebook page that House Bill No. 8728 has passed the 2nd Reading at the House of Representatives before 2018 ended.

The bill, titled “An Act Requiring All Graduating Elementary, High School and College Students To Plant At Least Ten (10) Trees Each As A PreRequisite For Graduation,” was filed on Dec. 5, 2018.

It hurdled the Second Reading on Dec. 12, 2018.

He added that indigenous species is the priority.
