Top Bulacan politikos inspect fireworks, firecrackers firms
Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado and Vice Governor Daniel Fernando inspected Thursday some fireworks manufacturing plants and stalls in Bocaue town.
In a statement, the provincial government said the activity was meant to ensure that rules and regulations stated in Republic Act No. 7183 are being observed by manufacturers, dealers and retailers of pyrotechnics and firecrackers.
Officials of the Pyrotechnic Regulatory Board joined the inspection, which was done at Maribel Sta. Ana Fireworks in Barangay Duhat, and R.T. Sayo Fireworks in Barangay Turo. The province has a total of 29 licensed manufacturers and 95 licensed dealers.
“Hanggang sa ngayon, satisfied kami dahil ang Bulacan pa rin ang nangunguna sa pyrotechnics at sa maraming bagay at maraming field of endeavors,” Sy-Alvarado said.
Despite the regular inspection, the governor continued to call on the public’s vigilance and to report illegal dealers.
“Umiwas tayo hindi sa paputok kung hindi sa sakuna. Pinipilit nating panatilihin ang kalidad ng ating mga produkto nang sa gayon ay hindi mawalan ng hanapbuhay ang higit 200 pamilya na umaasa dito,” the politiko said.
“Gayundin, kailangan nating matutunan ang responsible handling ng mga paputok upang makaiwas tayo sa disgrasya,” he added.
