Test, treat, isolate: Daniel Fernando orders intensified measures vs COVID-19
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Governor Daniel R. Fernando has ordered the strict implementation of intensified strategies against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the province.
Fernando issued the directive during the joint third quarter meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) and the city and municipal disaster risk reduction and management offices via Zoom on Thursday.
He said the intensified strategies of the province against Covid-19 include prevention, detection, isolation, or quarantine, testing, and treatment.
The governor particularly pointed out the coordination of all local government units of the province for contact tracing and isolation or quarantine.
“Kailangan ko ang aktibong paggawa ng bawat isa sa kanilang tungkulin (I need an active action of everyone in their duties),” he said.
He also gave directives to the Provincial Task Force Covid-19 specifically the health, response, law, and order clusters, to identify what is lacking or possible problems arising from the implementation of protocols to be able to look for immediate solutions.
He also cited the importance of the guidance and support of the local chief executives, the Philippine National Police, city and municipal disaster risk reduction and management office, city, and municipal health office, and barangay officials.
Some of the topics discussed during the meeting include having operational quarantine or isolation facilities in each town and city.
The governor called the attention of the municipal and city mayors about having a designated quarantine facility in their respective localities.
Fernando also said he is in favor of the “No Home Quarantine” policy so as to avoid the spread of the virus among family members.
“Having a facility for Covid-19 patients can greatly help prevent the inflation of positive cases. Also, we assist with the delivery of asymptomatic patients of Covid-19 to quarantine facilities,” he added.
As of Thursday, the total confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province are 3,401 with 1,468 active cases. The total number of recoveries is 1,848 while the death tally is 85. (PNA)
