Tarlac state U recognized for showcasing innovative programs
The Department of Science and Technology and the Benito and Catalina Yap Foundation (BCYF) expressed their support for the innovation programs of Tarlac State University (TSU), according to the Philippine Information Agency.
During the 2021 Philippine Innovation Forum, DOST Secretary Fortunato Dela Peña said TSU is “one of the only four state universities and colleges (SUCs) identified to showcase their campus and innovative programs,” the report said.
“We are holding this academic innovation forum or campus tour in four universities starting with the Mariano Marcos State University in Region 1, Isabela State University in Region 2, TSU in Region 3, and Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology in Region 5,” he was quoted as saying.
DOST and BCYF have been partnering for SUCs’ research and development and innovation for five years now.
Dela Peña noted in the report that initiatives in the SUCs for research and development are ways forward for shared learning experiences and creation of innovative projects.
“We have much priority to universities’ research and development institutes or councils to have a networking and exchange of views and mutual learning from the experiences on both sides,” he said.
Dela Peña vowed to continue assisting TSU in achieving its visions in the field of science and technology, according to the report.
