The Tarlac provincial government has urged residents of the province to get their booster shot against COVID-19.

The reminder was issued as part of the PinasLakas! campaign of the Department of Health, which aims to administer booster shots to about 50 percent or 23.8 million of the target population nationwide in the first 100 days of the administration of President Bongbong Marcos Jr.

According to Provincial Health Officer Jeanette Lazatin, Tarlac currently has a booster vaccination turnout of 24.19 percent.

As of July 26, about 256,518 have received their first booster while 19,822 got their second booster.

For senior citizens or A2 category, 109,703 out of the 129,409 target population or 84.77% were vaccinated with booster shots.

“We visit different barangays in the province to administer vaccines even during the weekends to cater the working population who are only available on weekends,” Lazatin said.

Capas has the most number of fully vaccinated individuals while San Jose, Ramos, Sta. Ignacia and Pura belong to the least number of fully vaccinated individuals.
