Tarlac Governor Susan Yap and Vice Governor Carlito David and Department of the Interior and Local Government-Tarlac provincial director Armi Bactad took home the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance award in a recent ceremony at the Manila Hotel.
The officials received the award from Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and Senator JV Ejercito, the fifth time Tarlac province was named as a recipient of the award.
The first was in 2015 and 2016 under then Governor Vic Yap while the other two were in 2018 and 2019 under the leadership of the incumbent.
Ten other local government units from the province received their SGLG awards, namely City of Tarlac, and the municipalities of Bamban, Capas, Gerona, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, San Clemente, Sta. Ignacia, and Victoria.
Aside from the province of Tarlac, the Central Luzon provinces of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Bataan were also named SGLG winners.
The SGLG honors local government units due to their sound financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management and tourism, culture and the arts.
“To receive once again the SGLG award for five years is a testament to our commitment to deliver services to our people promptly, efficiently and compassionately,” Yap said.
“My wholehearted gratitude to my PGT (Provincial Government of Tarlac) family for heeding the call Serbisyong MaYap para sa Tarlac,” she said.
