Tarlac Governor Susan Yap calls out DOH officials for lack of coordination
Tarlac Governor Susan Yap has spoken about using the Athletes Village in New Clark City as a quarantine center.
The governor did not hesitate to call out the Department of Health (DOH) and national government who at first did not properly coordinate the arrival of repatriated Filipinos from Wuhan to Capas. She said that her staff and constituents first found out about the news in social media, newspapers, and other sources which generated panic amongst them. What even reached them at first is that the Filipinos who will be quarantined at the Athletes Village are positive of nCov or its WHO official name, Covid-19.
The governor’s worries were swept away when the DOH finally reached out and assured her that those who will be arriving are not positive of the epidemic and will only stay at the Athletes Village within the 14-day quarantine period. Governor Yap also clarified that she understands and sympathizes with these repatriated Filipinos and would welcome more batches if needed as long as there will be close coordination and transparency from the national government.
