Dec 1, 2018 @ 10:22

Tarlac Governor Susan Yap joined the launch Friday of the One-Year Countdown to the 30th Southeast Asian Games that will be hosted by the Philippines.

“We win as one,” Yap wrote on her Facebook page. “Go Philippines!”

The event was held at the Bayanihan Park in Angeles City, Pampanga, spearheaded by Philippine Olympic Committee President Ricky Vargas, who co-chairs the 30th Philippines Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea also attended the ceremony.

Vargas said the Philippines first hosted the SEA Games in 1981, and its last hosting was in 2005.

In next year’s Philippines’ hosting, Tarlac will be among the venues of the 56 sports events that athletes from 11 countries will compete in, said William Ramirez, chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission.(END)
