Tarlac gov spruces up Athletes’ Village as ‘safe haven’ for local Covid-19 patients
Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap led the cleanup and preparation of the New Clark City Athletes’ Village in Capas town as the new quarantine facility for local coronavirus or Covid-19 patients.
“Busy day cleaning and prepping a safe haven for our frontliners. Tarlac’s Quarantine and treatment facility,” the governor said in a Facebook post.
“Let’s do our part by staying home and staying safe!” Yap added.
The Tarlac local government has designated the Athletes’ Village as its quarantine and treatment facility to isolate and treat its persons under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs) of Covid-19 infection.
Edgar Guevarra, Capas municipal administrator, said on Tuesday the facility will be for the exclusive use of Capas residents.
This developed following the send-off ceremony for 441 of the 444 crew members of the MV Grand Princess after completing their mandatory 14-day quarantine at the New Clark facility.
Three crew members developed symptoms and are now considered PUIs and were transferred to Mariveles, Bataan.
