The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Tarlac province organized a skills training activity on entrepreneurship and mango processing for residents of Barangay Bilad in Camiling town.
According to DTI Tarlac OIC Provincial Director Zaida Garibay, the entrepreneurship training could lead to more livelihood opportunities, and budding entrepreneurs in the municipality.
“We hope that this activity will inspire the participants to go into business and convert their produce into profit,” she said in a Philippine Information Agency report.
“This is an opportunity to have more entrepreneurial activities in their community that may contribute to their economic growth,” Garibay said.
During the activity, Business Counselor Renz Joseph Perez talked about entrepreneurship, business opportunities, and the steps and requirements in registering a business.
Arceli Oriondo was invited to demonstrate how to process mangoes into different products including jam, mango vinegar, mango candy, pickled mangoes, and dried mangoes.
