Tarlac commits to protecting rights of the child

The City Government of Tarlac has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the full protection and safety of children.
Members of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines attended the 3rd National Summit for the Welfare and Protection of Children in Iloilo City recently to discuss how local governments can protect the rights of the child.
During the summit, Tarlac City Vice Mayor Genaro Mendoza said the city has come up with legislative measures to ensure the safety of its children long before the call was made.
An ordinance providing for a comprehensive children’s welfare code and family support systems in the city, authored by Councilor Ana Aguas, was passed this year to recognize the Constitutional rights of the vulnerable, especially the children.
Tarlac, through its Council for the Welfare of Children and the City Social Welfare and Development Office, has long been offering programs, trainings and monitoring for the vulnerable kids in the community.
