Tarlac City remote village to have its own high school

Apr 11, 2018 @ 11:43

Barangay Balanti in Tarlac City will soon have its own high school, the local government said Wednesday.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has facilitated the amendments of SP Resolution No. 169, completing one of the “crucial stages” in the conversion of Balanti Elementary School into an Integrated School by the Department of Education (DepEd), it said.

School head Cristy Gomez has sought for the conversion of the said elementary school into an Integrated School.

“As a result of Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles and Sangguniang Panlungsod’s unifying advocacy to give a better future and opportunities for all, the Balanti Elementary School will soon be converted into an Integrated School and the barangay will have its own high school,” the Tarlac City Information Office said in a statement Wednesday.

Balanti is one of the remote villages located across the Tarlac River.

Having its own high school, Angeles said this will greatly help in the education of the youth in the barangay.
