Tarlac City holds tree planting to mark Arbor Day

The city government of Tarlac has conducted tree planting as part of its celebration of Arbor Day.

City Ordinance No. 008-14 provides that the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) shall lead the observance of Arbor Day every August 1.

This is in accordance with Republic Act No. 10176 or the Arbor Day Act of 2012.

The employees of the city government and members of the different organizations and government agencies participated in the tree planting held in Barangay Armenia.

“Sa direktiba ni Mayor Cristy Angeles, ang aktibidad ay patuloy na isinasagawa na naglalayong maipalaganap ang kamalayan sa kahalagahan ng patuloy na pagtatanim ng puno at ihikayat ang pagtatanim bilang parte ng taunang aktibidad ng siyudad,” the Tarlac City Information Office said.
