Talavera Mayor Nerivi Martinez continues the legacy of her late husband Marvin

“It’s been a year but it still feels like yesterday.”
Talavera Mayor Nerivi Martinez still remembers the day she lost the love of her life, Marvin. Although she is still in grief, the mayor gets comfort knowing that her husband is now resting in a better place.
“I know that you are happy for the legacy you’ve left behind. The MGM foundation is now working towards helping more and more cancer patients and as of now we’ve already helped hundreds of patients through our fundraising efforts,” she proudly updated her husband.
“Your Masonic Family namely Talavera Lodge #273, Kuya Worshipful Alfred, a brother who is close to your heart and has become a family, add to that all the Kuyangs in the lodge even dedicated their fellowship hall to your name. Yesterday, your fellow DeMolays also awarded you with the Legion of Honor award and as far as I know this completed your DeMolay affairs and journey,” she continued.
“This award is a testament of a life well lived and a man worthy of emulation as they say. Your final resting place is finally completed and now I am finally ready to accept but never forget the memories we cherish with you. I see this day as your first birthday with our Lord, and this fact alone comforts my heart,” Mayor Martinez said with the deepest love and longing of the time that they get to meet again.
