SM Clark BPO shut down after 27 employees test positive
A business process outsourcing company in SM City Clark was shut down by Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. after 27 of its employees tested positive for Covid-19.
The mayor also ordered that all employees of VXI Global Solutions be tested for the virus.
According to a report in Punto Central Luzon, eight employees from Angeles City and 19 from other towns and cities in Pampanga tested positive for Covid-19.
Last April 10, Punto reported that the city government had already shut down the third floor of VXI Building 6 for disinfection, contact tracing, and RT-PCR testing of all its employees.
But only a few employees were subjected to RT-PCR contrary to the city’s directive, according to the report.
Lazatin warned all BPO companies in Angeles City to regularly conduct free swab tests for personnel.
“In this time of pandemic, let us not compromise more the safety and health of our community. Kung ano po ang ipinapatupad ng siyudad, sundin po natin. We will not tolerate any act of ignorance,” he said.
