Sinong bitter? Mayor Salvador leads Ampalaya storage building groundbreaking

San Jose Mayor Mario Salvador led the groundbreaking ceremonies of the Ampalaya Packing Building on Tuesday (May 9).

The construction of the Ampalaya Packing Building is co-funded by the World Bank, Department of Agriculture, Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija, and various cooperatives of San Jose.

The Ampalaya Packing Building will allow farmers to better process and pack their ampalaya or “bitter gourd” produce.

The project is the first Ampalaya development project in Luzon.

San Jose’s farmer cooperatives like SIPBU, KABANGA, and KAPISOCO also received 700 bags of organic fertililzer, 168 cans of ampalaya seeds, 140 rolls of plastic mulch, and 700 pieces of seedling trays as farming assistance.
