House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has fostered a partnership with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for her initiative on disaster resiliency.

The former president recently invited the presidential daughter to the headquarters of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) at the Clark Freeport Economic Zone in Pampanga province.

The PDRF, a public-private partnership for disaster response and management, was born through Executive Order 870 issued by then President Arroyo in 2010.

During her field visit, Duterte was briefed about the center’s operations on how to better respond to disasters and other emergencies.
