The San Simon municipal government has been cited for its bustling business climate during the 2022 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The Pampanga town was listed among the winners of the Economic Dynamism category for third to fourth class municipalities, beating more than 600 other municipalities in its class across the Philippines.
San Simon Mayor Abundio Punsalan said the award was a testament of the “sustained effort of the LGU to uplift the economy in town,” according to a Sun Star Pampanga report.
“Itong award na ito ay patunay na masigla ang ekonomiya dito sa San Simon at nakabangon na ang mga businesses natin dito mula sa pandemya,” he said in the report.
In the Sun Star report, Punsalan also assured investors and micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) of continuous support from the LGU.
“Mula sa pagbigay ng pandagdag ng kapital, livelihood and skills training at sa pagkuha ng business permit, pinapadali natin lahat para sa ating mga negosyante,” he was quoted as saying.
