San Fernando mayor urges constituents to help boost tourism
San Fernando City Mayor Edwin Santiago urged his constituents to do their part in supporting the local tourism sector.
During the ceremonial vaccination of tourism workers on Thursday, the mayor “highlighted that the vaccines will serve as protection to workers while they continue their advocacy of reopening local tourism,” according to a Philippine Information Agency report.
He urged city residents to “take their part in reviving tourism in the city by strictly following the minimum public health standards.”
Based on the data from Department of Tourism, the province of Pampanga has a total of 2,756 tourism workers including 908 under the A1 category or healthcare workers; and 1,848 under A4 or economic frontliners, the PIA said.
Of this figure, 827 have already been vaccinated including 527 in the A1 priority group; and 300 in the A4, the report added.
