Roman wants probe into discrimination vs Kaladkaren Davila, gay friends
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman denounced the alleged discrimination against comedian Jervi Li, known as Kaladkaren Davila, and her gay friends.
“An investigation on this incident must be immediately conducted,” said the transgender politiko.
Davila and the rest of her group were allegedly barred to enter the H&J Sports Bar in Poblacion, Makati because they were gay.
Roman said this is why the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) Equality Bill should be passed into law.
“NO FILIPINO SHOULD EVER BE SUBJECTED TO THIS KIND OF DISCRIMINATION. This unequal treatment must stop. We can NOT and should NOT allow similar cases to happen EVER whether on the basis of SOGIE, race, religion, or for any other reason,” Roman said.
“Kudos to Kaladkaren Davila for having the bravery to speak out against inequality, hate, and discrimination. We have rights and we have to say or do something if those rights are violated,” she added.
