Roman urges FDA to adhere to global food safety standards
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman calls on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to adhere to global standards in food safety measures.
Roman recently filed HB 05323 which seeks to align Philippine food safety standards with internationally accepted practices.
It also ensures the nationwide monitoring and compliance of the country to the food safety standards.
The proposed measure will standardize the execution of the Philippine National Standard for food products.
The Bataan politiko cited the increased demand for inexpensive cooked foods which underwent questionable food preparations.
