The fight for the rights of LGBTs applies to all aspect of the life of Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman, the first transgender Filipina politician.
“Papasok sana ako sa men’s comfort room. Kasi sa UP, nakasanayan ko po that I would go to the bathroom when all the men left. Kasi at that time, I had long hair already. Takot po ako na ma-harass sa banyo,” said the politiko.
“But in Spain, I went to the men’s bathroom, and there were men at the door and they said, no, no, no señorita. This is not the right place. You have to go to the ladies’ room. And I thought wow, e di maganda,” she added.
