Roman scores victory for fellow Bataeños
Rep. Geraldine Roman scored another victory for her beloved hometown, Bataan.
Her fellow Bataeños will now a special day to commemorate the rich history of the province, by making January 11 a special non-working holiday in Bataan for its founding anniversary.
Roman shared the good news on her Facebook account.
“IT’S OFFICIAL! January 11 of every year will be a SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN BATAAN! Our beloved Bataan, which has a long history encompassing several periods, culminating in its establishment as the province of Bataan on January 11, 1757 by then Governor-General Pedro Manuel de Arandia, is celebrating its founding anniversary today! Through all the challenges and adversities, the people of Bataan has persevered!” she said.
The abogado further boasted that it was her priority during her early days in Congress to file a bill that will officially recognize January 11 as “Bataan Foundation Day.”
“It is my hope that it will bring our community closer, and enrich our relationships through our shared history and love for Bataan.
Fellow Bataeños, be proud of the rich history of our Province. Let us work as one for the continuing glory and prosperity of our beloved, beautiful, and historical Province of Bataan,” she added.
