Roman salutes DepEd for new history project
As a youth advocate, Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman said she is thrilled by the new project from the Department of Education that aims to bolster education and historical preservation with young students.
The new DepEd project, she said, includes distributing 21,000 quality posters to selected basic education schools and other institutions all over the country that showcase statements of notable Filipinos.
The posters will feature National Heroes, National Artists, National Scientists, noble statesmen, and outstanding educators.
“One way to make our children feel love for, pride in, and attachment to our country is by making them knowledgeable and appreciative of the country’s history,” Roman said in a Facebook status.
“It is for this reason that I am very pleased with this new project of the Department of Education which develops nationalism by exposing Filipino children to, and regularly reminding them of, our rich history…” she added.
