Roman distributes shallow tube wells to support farmers amid Covid-19
Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman on Friday led the distribution of shallow tube wells, which are used to irrigate rice paddies using groundwater, to several farmers and farming associations in her district.
She said such farming implements would help the agriculture sector recover quickly from the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy.
“Ngayong araw ay namahagi tayo kasama ang National Irrigation Administration (NIA) ng Shallow Tube Well sa 32 farmer-beneficiaries at associations sa buong Unang Distrito ng Bataan,” Roman said on her Facebook page.
According to the Pampanga Bataan Irrigation Management Office of NIA in Region 3, her office was the first to distribute the irrigation tools in the entire Bataan and Pampanga.
