Roman ‘deeply saddened’ by killings of Tanauan, General Tinio mayors
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman was “deeply saddened” after still unidentified men killed two mayors in Batangas and Nueva Ecija.
In the past week, Tanauan, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili and General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote were gunned down in their respective towns. Suspects remain at large.
“I am deeply saddened by the atrocious killings of two political leaders one after the other,” said Roman.
The politiko gave her condolences to the victims’ families and hoped for a fair probe into their deaths.
“I can just imagine the anguish that they are going through. No words will really be able to comfort them during these most difficult times. Questions need to be answered. And they need to be answered immediately,” said Roman.
“A complete, fair, and thorough investigation should be speedily conducted to bring to justice the perpetrators of these gruesome murders. Let there be an end to all kinds of killings – whether political or civilian,” she added.
