Roman cares for caregivers
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman continues to advocate for the well-being of caregivers.
She and labor advocate Susan Ople met with several caregivers’ associations on Friday, January 13, to hear the needs of the said sector.
“Caregiving is a profession that requires not just skills but also a great deal of patience, understanding and love. Thank you to the different caregivers’ associations that attended our dialogue yesterday. I am listening and will continue to listen to your concerns,” said Roman on a Facebook post.
“Together, let us strengthen and improve the Caregivers’ Welfare Act, which, once passed, will result in higher wages, better protection, and more benefits for all Filipino caregivers. Salamat sa inyong pag-unawa at pagtitiwala. #respeto #puso,” she added.
The House committee on labor and employment had already approved the Caregiver’s Welfare Act that aims to establish guidelines for the protection of caregivers’ right in the Philippines.
