For Vice President Leni Robredo, seeking the presidency must be left to destiny.

This was her reply in an interview Monday in San Fernando City, Pampanga where she attended a multisectoral forum.

Asked about the possibility of a ‘Robredo vs. Sara Duterte’ presidential race in 2022, the country’s second highest official said: “Yung sa akin kasi, yung pagiging pangulo, destiny yun. Yung kasaysayan natin, nagpapakita na hindi ‘to napapaghandaan.”

“Maraming nagbalak.

Robredo said it would not be good for her to keep thinking about any ambitions in 2022 while she is vice president.

“Meron akong Angat Buhay. Kapag 2022 yung iisipin ko, ang parati ko ng konsiderasyon (ay) ‘yung eleksyon,” she said, referring to her flagship project which focuses on alleviating the plight of marginalized sectors of society.

Parang mawawala yung Angat Buhay.”

Robredo, the widow of the late Interior Secretary and 2000 Ramon Magsaysay Awards Recipient for Government Service Jesse Robredo, was only a political neophyte when she was asked to be the running mate of former Secretary Mar Roxas in the 2016 elections.
