Rising cases of HIV among millennials alarm Roman
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman was concerned that more millennials are contracting HIV and AIDS.
The politiko shared a news article indicating cases are already rising among the Filipino youth.
“The figures are alarming, and we must do more to raise awareness on HIV/AIDs, prevent the spread of the diesase, and find ways to help those who suffer from it,” said Roman.
The transgender lawmaker then reminded the public to stop the stigma on those diagnosed with HIV and AIDS.
“But let’s not fall for negative stereotypes or stigmatize those who are affected with the disease: HIV/AIDs does not choose its victims, NOR exclusively belong to one segment of society.
There are many people with HIV/AIDs who are productive members of society, who work hard and do so much for their communities,” she said.
