Rep Montalla turns to prayer after quake jolts Zambales amid Covid-19 crisis
“Lord have mercy.”
That was Zambales Rep. Cheryl Deloso-Montalla’s prayer after a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck her province amid the Covid-19 crisis that has led to a Luzon-wide lockdown.
She noted that tremors had already been felt in the past days prior to the Thursday quake.
“The other day may naramdamang lindol sa may San Antonio at kahapon sa may Sta Cruz,” Montalla said.
“Meron na naman ngayon sa kalakhang Zambales. Be safe mga kababayan,” she said on her Facebook page.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the magnitude 4.6 quake of tectonic origin struck at 2:49 p.m.
Its epicenter was identified at 30 kilometers southwest of San Felipe, Zambales. The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Olongapo City and Intensity in Guagua, Pampanga.
Phivolcs said it was not expecting any damage or aftershocks.
