Reforesting watershed a must to ensure Angeles’ water supply – Lazatin
To ensure a sustainable supply of water in Angeles City for generations to come, there’s a need to reforest and rehabilitate the Sapangbato watershed, according to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr.
“We want to plant more trees at our watershed areas to protect the environment and ensure sufficient water supply in the future,” the mayor said as he pledged to plant almost 10,000 more saplings at the Angeles City Watershed.
“Having water is a must. These efforts being done at the present time will help conserve water for the use of future generations,” Lazatin said.
“Isa lang naman po ang goal natin, ang maseguro ang kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan, habang pinangangalagaan ang kalikasan,” he said.
The City Environment and Natural Resources Office has been tasked with planting 9,576 more fruit-bearing trees at watershed.
