PRO-3 takes steps to remain ‘neutral, apolitical’ during election

The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) has taken steps to ensure that its policemen and women will remain apolitical and neutral for the duration of the election period.

According to the regional police chief, Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, personnel of the organization were rotated prior to the start of the election period to ensure a fair election.

“We implemented a specific action to ensure that the organization remains apolitical and neutral,” he said.

“Police personnel with relatives, either by consanguinity or affinity within the fourth civil degree, running for national and local positions were transferred to remove any notion of biases towards the police,” Baccay said.

PRO-3 also activated the Regional Special Operations Task Group and the Election Monitoring System application to ensure peaceful and orderly elections in Central Luzon on May 9.
