Pregnant women in San Fernando urged to get vaccinated
Officials of San Fernando City urged all pregnant women to get inoculated against Covid-19.
During a seminar last Friday dubbed “Covid-19 Vaccination on Pregnant Women: What To Know and Why You Should Be Vaccinated,” health officials stressed that Covid-19 vaccines are generally safe and beneficial for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.
“Maraming pregnant women pa yung natatakot at may alinlangan pang magpabakuna,” Jocylene Raiza Cruz, public health nurse and program coordinator, said in a Punto Central Luzon report.
“Ang layunin natin ngayon ay maipaliwanag sa kanila na safe para sa kanila ang mga bakuna at makakatulong ito para protektahan ang kanilang mga sarili at pati na rin ang mga baby na nasa sinapupunan pa lamang nila,” she was quoted as saying.
Officials advised pregnant women in San Fernando who are willing to be vaccinated to get a clearance from their obstetrician-gynecologist.
Along with their identification cards, they may present clearances to any of the five vaccination sites in the city which are regularly accommodating pregnant women who are now under the expanded A3 priority group for Covid-19 vaccination.
