A schoolteacher from Porac town in Pampanga province won top honors at the Department of Education’s (DepEd’s) first-ever DepEd TV Awards.

Marilyn Escoto, of Pulungmasle National High School, was awarded as the DepEd TV National Teacher Broadcaster, Jury’s Choice Awardee, and National Winner in the DepEd TV Philippines’ for Best Children’s Program.

The award body recognizes the outstanding performance of teacher-broadcasters (TBs) and production teams of the program.

Escoto will represent the Philippines in the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore in December, according to a Sun Star Pampanga report.

The report said Escoto is a Batch 2 Delta B Scholar.

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda promised support for Escoto for her trip to Singapore.

DepED TV Awards is expected to be held annually to add motivation to the TBs and production teams as they continue to create high-quality and world-class educational TV lessons.
