Police arrest 8 Israelis, over 400 Filipinos in Angeles City raids
Some 482 individuals, including eight Israeli nationals, were arrested in the operations in Angeles City, Pampanga for the alleged online scam, police said Thursday.
The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group conducted simultaneous raids in three buildings where the International Brandings Development Marketing, Inc. (IBD) has been holding offices inside the Clark Freeport Zone on June 6.
The company was allegedly involved in fraudulent online trading for two-and-a-half years already and it has been changing its name from time to time.
The operations were made following complaints from several foreign nationals from Australia and South Africa after they were allegedly victimized by the alleged online trading scam.
Confiscated during the search were several pieces of digital evidence used in the alleged commission of cybercrime, mostly computers, identifications cards, and assorted documentary evidence.
The suspects will face cases for alleged violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 in relation to Article 315 or syndicated estafa of the Revised Penal Code.
