PNP to deploy 9,000 cops in Central Luzon to secure May 14 polls
Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 will increase the deployment of its personnel to different villages to ensure safe and secure barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on May 14, an official said Friday.
PRO3 Regional Director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus said that almost 9,000 personnel from different police units in Central Luzon would be deployed in the region.
“We will also send out police personnel assigned to do desk work and PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel undergoing schooling to the different polling precincts to increase the number of those tasked to ensure peaceful elections this coming May 14,” he said.
Of the 9,000 personnel, he said 280 of them from the Regional Headquarters would be deployed in the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.
“We continue to carry out our mandated tasks to ensure the attainment of a safe and secure Barangay and SK elections this Monday, May 14 as we relatively remain steadfast in our anti-criminality efforts,” Corpus said.
