PNP launches food bank in Central Luzon
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday kick-started its BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank project in Central Luzon, according to the Philippine Information Agency.
The project is a nationwide initiative of the new PNP chief, Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, the report said.
The BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank “aims to help indigents greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the regional director of the Central Police said.
“Police Regional Office was able to give relief packs to our Muslim brothers and sisters, Indigenous Peoples and the women’s sector in various parts of Central Luzon,” Police Regional Director PBGen. Valeriano De Leon said.
“In these trying times, Bayanihan spirit must be inculcated to every Filipino’s heart. We must show compassion to those in need and help without expecting anything in return,” he said.
“We appeal to all our kind-hearted kababayans to help or donate cash or in kind for our fellow Filipinos thru this project,” De Leon said.
