PLDT mulls call center in Pampanga with access to 911 calls
The Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) is looking at the possibility of building a call center with direct access to 911 emergency hotline for citizen complaints and emergencies in Pampanga.
PLDT SME Nation representative Angela Camacho disclosed the plan during a visit with lady politiko Governor Lilia Pineda held at the Governor’s Office in San Fernando City Wednesday, February 15.
She added the “911” number will serve as emergency hotline for citizens in the province, where Kapampangans can call in to report any kind of urgent concerns such as crime, disaster or medical assistance.
“One of the good things is, if we do this in Pampanga, there is no capital expenditure required. It operates as a service. Meaning to say, monthly recurring charge (MRC)-based. It goes to operational expenditures,” Camacho said in a Philippine News Agency report February 15.
The plan to put up an emergency response team is to ensure speedy response on complaints, crises and disasters within the province, the PLDT representative stressed.
