Department of Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol on September 2 said the bird flu outbreak was over.

Piñol also lifted the 7-kilometer controlled area radius around San Luis in Pampanga and Jaen and San Isidro in Nueva Ecija.

“This means poultry and poultry products from these areas could now be transported to other destinations or markets,” he said.

But Piñol said quarantine restrictions and surveillance will still be implemented at the one-kilometer radius of the 3 affected municipalities.

He added that farmers in the affected areas will only be allowed to raise poultry again “after 90 days from the day the disinfection of the areas ended.”
