Pinedas meet with 3K seniors for healthcare service

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia Pineda recently met with a total of 3,051 senior citizens from different cities and municipalities in Pampanga.

Held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, the governor and the vice governor spoke to the elderly residents about the services provided by the provincial government under the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program.

The Pineda mother-and-son personally explained the services to senior citizens.

The province approved the preventive health care ordinance recently. But it requires data that would enable a better understanding of why some diseases are more prevalent than others, according to a Sun Star Pampanga report.

The senior citizens were gathered for the implementation of the data gathering as well as to orient the seniors on how they could benefit from the program, officials said in the report.

The ordinance provides a province-wide health system, through the Provincial Health Office, for the delivery of the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative components of health care within the province.
