Pineda to traders: Raising prices of rice, other basic goods now banned

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda on Tuesday reminded traders in his province that there was now an effective price freeze for rice and other basic goods in the whole Luzon, including Pampanga.
“Bawal po na magtaas ng presyo ng bigas at iba pang pangunahing bilihin,” he wrote in all capital letters on his Facebook page.
“Sa bisa po ng Proclamation 1051, idineklara po ni Pangulong (Rodrigo) Duterte na nasa state of calamity ang buong Luzon dahil sa sunod-sunod na malalakas na bagyo,” the governor said.
“Automatic po ang price control,” Pineda said.
“Kaya nakikiusap po ako sa mga negosyante at mga nagtitinda na wag magtaas ng presyo ng mga basic goods. Yan din po ang paalala ng DTI,” he said.
