Pineda receives P5K doses of AstraZeneca jabs
Some 5,130 doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed by United Kingdom’s AstraZeneca arrived in Pampanga province on Friday.
Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, together with provincial and health officials, personally received the vaccines delivered by the Department of Health (DOH), according to a Philippine News Agency report.
The report said the vaccines were stored at the Provincial Vaccine Cold Storage Facility located at the Provincial Engineer’s Office Compound in Barangay Sindalan.
The national government, through the DOH, has given Pampanga a share of the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines donations through the Jose. B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital, according to the report.
The vaccination rollout for medical front-liners in the province started Monday with the arrival of the first batch of 846 doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
An additional 3,255 doses were delivered the next day.
The provincial government purchased AstraZeneca vaccines with the first batch of 300,000 doses expected to arrive between June and July this year.
