Pineda cites ‘unwavering support’ of Duterte, now adopted son of Pampanga

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda paid tribute to the support and contributions of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who was named an “adopted son” of Pampanga province this week.

“Ang pamahalaang panlalawigan po ay nagpapasalamat kay dating Pangulong Duterte para sa mga programa’t proyekto na kanyang ibinigay sa Lalawigan ng Pampanga at mga Kapampangan noong siya ay nanunungkulan pa bilang pangulo ng ating bansa,” he said.

In his speech, the governor cited some of the significant programs and projects given by the former president to the province, including the new passenger terminal in Clark, PNR Clark Phase 2, first-ever OFW Hospital in the Philippines, and the P210-million fund for the construction of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark.

Pineda also cited the P300-million fund for the Provincial Hospital in Apalit, P4-billion fund for the Pampanga Southern Bypass Road connecting the Municipalities of Sto. Tomas, Minalin, Guagua, Sasmuan, and Lubao, five dialysis centers, and P50-million DHVSU Administrative Building.

He also mentioned various COVID-19 programs that benefited millions in Pampanga, such as the isolation facilities in Mexico and Lubao, COVID-19 vaccines administered to approximately 2.2-million residents, financial assistance for 641,168 indigent families, and temporary employment for 108,481 TUPAD beneficiaries.

Under Resolution 7643, Duterte was declared as the “Adopted Son of the Province of Pampanga” for his invaluable contribution to the development of the province throughout his term as president from 2016-2022.

“Thank you for adopting me as the son of Pampanga. It is a great honor, really. Ako naman ay nagtatrabaho lang,” said Duterte.
