Pineda appeals to tourists, off-roaders in Pampanga: Let ‘Ulysses’ pass first
Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda on Wednesday appealed to tourists and off-roaders to avoid going to tourist destinations in the province with the looming arrival of Typhoon “Ulysses.”
“Pray po tayo, iwasan ho natin lumabas mamayang gabi dahil ang pasok ng gabi mamayang gabi. Iwasan na ho natin,” he told reporters after evacuating residents in low-lying areas.
“Yung ibang pumupunta sa mga tourist destinations natin, yung mga off-roaders, nakikiusap ho ako wag na muna po,” Pineda said.
“And get ready, sa mga offroaders ng Pampanga, in case may sakuna, hihingin ko pong muli ang tulong nyo,” the governor said.
He said he led the evacuation of residents in high-risk areas including coastal barangays.
Pineda also suspended classes and work in all schools and government offices.
The Pagasa weather bureau on Wednesday hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 over many areas in Luzon, including Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan and Bulacan provinces.
