Pilar’s police chief dies after reportedly shooting himself
The chief of police in Pilar town in Bataan died on Monday after he reportedly shot himself by accident, according to the police.
The Bataan police director, Col. Romell Velasco, identified the victim as Maj. Rizaldy Rubio, 43, a resident of Barangay Tapulao in Orani.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Orani District Hospital.
According to the report from the Orani police station, CMsgt. May Rubio, Rubio’s wife, informed the police that she rushed her husband to the hospital after she saw him sprawled on the floor with a gunshot wound in the right abdomen.
She claimed she heard a gunshot outside of the room.
The police have launched an investigation on the alleged accidental firing.
