Peñaranda town hall, health office locked down after Covid-19 surge
Officials closed down the Peñaranda municipal hall and local health office for one week due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in the Nueva Ecija town, according to a Punto Central Luzon report.
The municipal government ordered the “temporary closure” of the town hall and rural health unit on April 8.
The facilities will be closed until April 16, according to the report.
In a memo, Peñaranda Mayor Joselito Ramos said the suspension of work in their offices was “in view of the rising number of municipal employees who contracted the Covid-19 virus and the recommendation of the municipal health officer.”
Mandatory contact tracing and disinfection will be conducted during the closure.
“Patuloy pong ipagdasal po ang ating mga kababayan lalo’t higit ang mga sumakabilang-buhay dahil sa sakit na ito,” officials said in a social media post.
